Falling out of love is the hardest thing in the world.
And Elin and Ty Whitt are terrible at it.
The first time the local basketball star smiled at Elin, she was a goner. It was just so damn easy to fall for the dark-haired hometown hero with his charming smile and strong, athletic build.
Thousands of sleepy smiles, aimless drives down country roads, and squeaks of the backdoor after a swing shift later, reality hits. And it hits hard. Falling in love was definitely the easy part. Watching it break apart was impossible.
Through the tears, the second-guesses, the memories of a life built together, the world keeps spinning. With each turn comes clarity and hope—sometimes in the form of a pair of muddy boots by the back door or from the words of a wise friend.
When Ty shows back up with a new found determination to put his family back together, Elin’s torn between the fights of the past and the possibility of a new start. This is the man that holds her heart, the man she loves beyond anything else. But this is also the one person in the world that can cause her the most pain.
Life’s not always easy. Love’s not for the faint of heart. But with life comes lessons and Ty and Elin have the scars to prove it. But it’s their love written in those scars that will hold them together … or break them apart.
Written In the Scars broke me in a way, that no other book ever did. The moment I started reading this book I was surprised, mesmerized with the beautiful writing, that seemingly caught me attention immediately, and it kept me til the very ending. I couldn’t put this book down and now I am huge mess and I don’t know what to do. I was left speechless by end, I couldn’t believe what I read, from beginning this book gripped my heart, and even in those heart wrenching moment, it was beautiful, inside and outside.
I have read so many books, and almost no book can compare to this book. Written In The Scars grips your soul and makes you feel so much. This story isn’t just about love, it’s also about friendships, second chances but most of all life and learning from the mistakes you have made. Because sometimes life is scary, sometimes life is hard. and we usually make mistakes in those moments, and sometimes those mistakes leave scars and bruise, we in those moments push everyone away, and make the healing slower, but if we are lucky to find someone like Ty has found Elin, that someone could make our journey a little less painful. They would pick us up when we’re down, they would help us pick the broken pieces. They share laughter, pain and love with us. They make our lives worth a while. Love makes it worth a while, and love changes us, but even love requires work, trust, honesty and even a little heart break.
Ty and Elin have been married for seven years, they had a happy marriage until the problems began. Problems that forced Ty to leave Elin and their marriage in pieces. That was Ty’s mistake, a mistake that would almost cost him his marriage and the love of his life.
Loving her is so damn easy. It’s as natural as breathing or the beating of a heart.
Elin was in love with Ty, since the day they meet in highschool and even today she loves him more than anyone else, even today when he broke her heart and left, she still loved him. He left her alone, to pick up the broken pieces of her heart, her pain and her lost child. After almost two months Elin has finally been able to move on, but as if Ty knew she moved on, he barges into her life again. Make her feel bitter pain she felt the moment he walked out of the door. Even though she still loves him, she won’t give in so easily.
Scars stick around to prove you showed up for life. That you lived. That you fought. That you loved.
Ty has been in love with Elin, since the day he can remember. Ty was utterly happy with Elin, until problems came. He hoped that somehow they would be able to fix the damage, but problems kept piling on and on. The fights, the miscarriage, drove them apart but what ruined them was Ty’s severe injury at work that almost cost him his life. Unable to do anything, or to help Elin, he watches the love of his life, work and slave herself to take care of him, he felt useless, because to him that wasn’t the way the things are suppose to go, he should be taking care of her, not the other way around. So he though that by leaving, he was helping Elin, but what he didn’t realize was that he ruined her and their marriage. After almost two months Ty realizes that he can’t go on without Elin, so he returns, with one goal in his mind, to fix his marriage with Elin. But it turns out that it won’t be that easy, many road blocks and heartbreak are standing in his way. Will Ty be able to fix his marriage and make Elin love him again?
The writing, the character portrayal, the delivery was so beautiful, exemplary even. The feelings this book gave me are indescribable. This story isn’t just about Elin and Ty, it’s also about their love, their family, their mistakes and also about their second chance to rediscover themselves.
